According to the Variety website, Fox Searchlight Pictures has "domestic distribution rights" for the movie Fast Food Nation.

Fast Food Nation is a true story about "what really lies in the burger patty you consider meat", written by Eric Schlosser. According to his book, the government doesn’t care enough about what we are eating, and what the fast food places are selling us. Apparently even cafeteria school food is sometimes majorly unclean. And im not just talking about a hair or something, sometimes its as bad as actually having krap in your hamburger... yumm !

The film is directed by Richard Linklater and will be a fictional version of the book "Fast Food Nation".

The movie will star Patricia Arquette (from TV's "Medium"!), Bobby Cannavale, Luis Guzman, Ethan Hawke, Ashley Johnson, Greg Kinnear, Kris Kristofferson, Esai Morales, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Lou Taylor Pucci, Ana Claudia Talancon, Wilmer Valderrama (Fez on "That 70's Show") and... Avril Lavigne!
