News and Info about Avril Lavigne from a Napanee Area Blogger Girl!

Avril Lavigne "Girlfriend" - First Single on Her CD!

I just noticed some new videos on Youtube for a song from Avril's upcoming CD "The Best Damn Thing" - it's called "Girlfriend"!

Below I've attached a video someone made from other Avril videos but with 'Girlfriend" as the sound track.

And I also found a video someone uploaded that shows him and his brother doing a live acoustic cover version of the song! :)

Check out the videos below!

UPDATE: Avril's OFFICIAL video for "Girlfriend" is here!

Thanks Blogger Girl for stopping by and chatting about Avril. I haven't seen the video yet but I'm sure it will be interesting. Its cool that you are from Napanee, Avrills hometown. I use to know people from around there. Keep up the avril love

>the two guys singing sounded way >better than avril,

I enjoyed seeing those two brothers singing the song (which is why I added it here), but I *really* like Avril's version. But you're welcome to your opinion. :)

>avril has begun to suck

I an millions of her other fans would disagree with that statement a LOT. But since you took the time to listen to THIS new song of hers, there's hope for you yet. Keep an ear out for the rest of her songs off this new CD and see if they change your mind. LOL

> and isnt she dancin
>didnt she ahte that shit??

The dancing you see is from other videos this person mashed together to go along with the new song - it isn't the official vid...

And no - she never hated dancing that I know of. She likes to have fun and what she does in the video depends on what the song is about. If it's happy and upbeat, then she dances and goofs around. If it's a serious ballad, then she acts appropriately.

>next shell lipsync

LOL - never! :)

I remember back when Ashley Simpson got caught lip syncing on TV (and one or two other pop singers got caught around the same time too), and Avril went on MAD TV and sat there with a guitar and sang by herself and she did an awesome job!

She doesn't need to lipsync to sound great.

Monday, February 19, 2007 12:41:00 PM

maybe millions of her fans would disagree, but she is also loosing LOTS of fans....
i dont think she didnt like dancing for fun.. i think chris meant that she hated choreographed stuff, becuase i heard she was doing that on her tour and i thought she hated that stuff

she'll probably get too drunk to do shows and HAVE to start lipsyncing

i thought she hated everything she has become
a hilary duff, superficial bubllegum popstar

when she came out she was about being your self, and not settling, well i think shes lost her brain, and shes settled to be like everyone else out there

Tuesday, February 20, 2007 7:19:00 PM

> maybe millions of her fans would > disagree, but she is also loosing > LOTS of fans....

That's true - but any singer or band that lasts for more than a couple years is going to lose some fans over the years - whether they stay the same or keep updating their image & style.

With Avril, some fans may not like any changes she makes, or maybe some fans move on to other types of music over the years... but she will also gain NEW fans who grow into her target age group etc.

I'm sure many fans that Madonna had back in 1985 have moved onto new favorite singers, and some of her newest songs have gained new fans who weren't even born in 1985(!). :)

Same with Avril and her new changes - some of her long time fans will like it, some won't, and some people will become new fans.

> i dont think she didnt like
> dancing for fun.. i think chris
> meant that she hated
> choreographed stuff, becuase
> i heard she was doing that on
> her tour and i thought she hated > that stuff

OH - you mean choreographed dancing moves in concert, like Britney Spears or something?

I hadn't heard anything about Avril doing anything like that... so I would doubt that information until you see it for yourself or get reports from people attending her concert.

I just posted an entry here about this past week, where Avril held a small private concert for fans in Calgary, and there was no mention about her doing any choreographed dancing. :)

> she'll probably get too drunk to
> do shows and HAVE to start
> lipsyncing

Ha - well, she hasn't had any problems yet singing in concerts, so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. She drinks when she's out at bars etc, but haven't heard that she drinks while doing concerts or that any concerts were affected by her drinking...

So I don't think I'd believe anything about that until I heard it.

> i thought she hated everything
> she has become a hilary duff,
> superficial bubllegum popstar

Well... she *has* grown up since doing her first CD, so of course she is going to change. And we'll have to agree to disagree about your opinion that she's now a bubblegum popstar (I disagree).

> when she came out she was about
> being your self, and not
> settling, well i think ...shes
> settled to be like everyone else > out there

I still think she is being herself... but maybe, as she's gotten a bit older, some of the things she WANTS to do just happen to be the same thing some other people like to do.

When she first started, she just wanted to sing. Now she wants to sing, and act, and model. I think it's good that she is trying new things and having fun with it... as long as she keeps singing, because that's what I like best (although I also enjoyed her character Heather the possum in "Over the Hedge"). :)

Her new song, Girlfriend, is AWESOME!!!

I loved it, the song supposed to be her breaking into something brand new and fun, right, but was it written before she was married??

blogger girl is a bitch

people have different opinions

if people want to hate her then fine

everything you say can also be rebuttled too

> blogger girl is a bitch

Wow - if that were true, I'd be the smartest female dog in the world to be able to write on a blog all by myself like this!

>people have different opinions

That's true - which is why I let opposing views about Avril remain here... except one that had swearing in it (possibly posted by you too...since both comments were written by 'anonymous')

> if people want to hate her then
> fine

I agree, which is why I wrote "we'll have to agree to disagree" to another comment here that differed from how I felt about something.

> everything you say can also be
> rebuttled too

"Rebuttled"?

Check this

Of course there can be valid counter-points or differing opinions to my own... but unfortunately for you that would require someone who can express themselves in an intelligent manner.

You know... proper spelling and grammar.

Stuff like that.

Saturday, February 24, 2007 3:06:00 AM

okay first of all..

Wow - if that were true, I'd be the smartest female dog in the world to be able to write on a blog all by myself like this!

did you have a bad day, holy your feeding it because that was bitchy

but anyway..
rebuttled is from debates and you disgree with most things people say by backing up your opinion with theirs, and everything you say can be defended by the other side too

you dont know her so why do you talk like you do??

I think most people would say a LOT worse if they were called a 'bitch'by someone - especially someone who didn't know them... but I don't let it bother me.

I'd rather have fun with them because, although they feel safe calling me that name safely behind their best friend (a computer keyboard), I know they wouldn't have the nerve to say it to my face. :)

>but anyway..
>rebuttled is from debates and you >disgree with most things people >say by backing up your opinion >with theirs, and everything you >say can be defended by the other >side too

Oh, I know what he/she was TRYING to say (and what rebuttal means)... but it isn't spelled "rebuttled" (which is why i added that link). "Rebutted" is the word they were obviously and vainly grasping for. LOL

>you dont know her so why do you >talk like you do??

Her who? The bad speller with poor grammar who posts here under the name 'anonymous' and calls me names?
Or do you mean Avril..?

If the anonymous person, then this is my blog and I love having people post comments here, even if they don't agree with me, but stupid name calling gets boring fast.

If you mean Avril - no I don't know her and never said I did and never implied it in any of my posts. The closest I get is to say I'm a "Napanee area blogger girl" which happens to be true and where Avril grew up.

Thanks for your comment! :)

Have you seen her new video??

Her song is good, and upbeat, totally gets the blood pumping!!

The video is good, but she is wearing hot pants, and doing Britney Spears dancing.

I dont understand it, but the song is good!

> Have you seen her new video??

Hey Kattelynn! Thanks for the news!

I just added a new post with Avril's official video for Girlfriend on it!

>Her song is good, and upbeat,
>totally gets the blood pumping!!

I agree it's awesome. :)

>The video is good, but she
>is wearing hot pants, and
>doing Britney Spears dancing.

Like I said in my new post, I think *maybe* she's kinda doing a parody of typical pop videos with this video. But also it's appropriate for the song anyways because, like you say, it's really upbeat and energetic. So it wouldn't be appropriate for her to be dressed all in black, standing still behind a microphone, and glaring at the camera! lol

>I dont understand it, but
>the song is good!

I agree. I also don't like who ended up with the guy at the end of the song, but it's Av's video so I guess she gets to decide how it goes...

And I think we will see VERY different videos for each of the songs she does.. and some just *might* have her dressed all in black and glaring at the camera too. :D

Sunday, February 25, 2007 11:24:00 PM

I really think the parody idea makes sense, I think that would be total Avril-esque:D haha

You should delete those mean comments.

YOU ROCK!!!!

Saturday, March 03, 2007 1:36:00 PM

I think it would be interesting to hear what Avril has to say about her sex life. I mean before she got married it seemed like it was her implying she was a virgin, and it would be interesting to hear what she had to say about it.

Or is that what she meant in saying "married life is fucking awesome, as long as youre with the right person". ??

Yeah... but I don't mind the Avril haters coming here to rant because then I have the chance to set them straight! LOL

The only comment I deleted was just a bunch of cursing and badly written too. ha.

Thanks!! :)

Really? I didn't get that impression from her. Or do you mean some of her song lyrics gave that idea?

If so, then it's probably similar to the way she has songs on this new CD that don't reflect Avril's own life - like in 'Girlfriend'. I don't think she really wants some guy to dump his girlfriend for her so she can date him.. since Avril is married to Deryck now! :)

> Or is that what she
>meant in saying "married

Now *that* sounds like one of the songs that *does* reflect her real life. lol

Thanks for commenting here guys! :)

Hi I am Sarah. I kind of got the impression she was a virgin from "Dont Tell Me."

"Did you think that i was gonna give it up to you this time"

And, also that top she wore in the maxim photoshot, which was "Did you think that I was gonna give it up to you"

I don't really care, if she was a virgin when she got married, or if she wasn't.:)

What do you think bloggergirl? Do you think Avril was a virgin when she got married?

Wednesday, March 07, 2007 6:15:00 AM

I agree, the guys sound way better than she does...
What happened to her positive image? Her songs used to be about respecting yourself, and not putting out - which definitely wasn't implied in this video, where she disappears into the public bathroom at the end - how dirty.
You would think with marriage, she would have matured, and not created a video that makes her look even younger and more immature than her complicated one, that was made when she really was in high school!
It just seems like a Hilary Duff/Fergie rip off - like she has lost her edge, or something.
I have lost all respect for her...

Ohhhhhh.. okay. Well, I guess she might say those lyrics were about her saying that to a specific guy.

So maybe she wasn't a virgin, but that doesn't mean she has to give it up to some guy just because he thought she would because she'd done it before(?).

If I had to guess (or spin it) then that's a possibility. Maybe the guy thought she'd give it up for him just because she'd already slept with another guy before... but I can understand where it might sound like she was a virgin (and since they're only song lyrics, maybe the character in the song *is* a virgin).

>I don't really care, if she
>was a virgin when she got

Ha - well, it's none of my business. But if someone put a gun to my head, and forced me to guess correctly.... then my answer would rhyme with "toe". :) But only she knows for sure.

Well I agree her songs are normally about a positive image - although some parents might disagree. LOL

> Her songs used to be about

Well, it *is* just a song, and some songs are just for fun while others are written to have a message... and I think 'Girlfriend' and a pure fun song. I'm betting many other songs on the CD will have a message to them.

> where she disappears into the
> public bathroom at the end -

I dunno - I didn't take the video that literally. It's just a set they were playing in and it's a fun video.

If Avril did a serious song and was promoting drug use or something bad like that then I'd probably feel different. But personally I don't take what's in the Girlfriend video very seriously...

>You would think with marriage,
>she would have matured, and
>not created a video that
>makes her look even younger
>and more immature than her
>complicated one, that was
>made when she really was in
>high school!

Some people like the new look and some people don't - Avril heard the same complaints when she decided to be a model too. But she's obviously decided to change her image and, in the case of Girlfriend, have fun in a different way than she has before (like compared to Skater Boi which was fun but not in the the same way).

> I have lost all respect for
> her...

It's too bad you feel that way and I hope (and think) some of the other songs off her new CD will be more like what you want.

As far as respect goes, that's the problem a singer or group faces when they change - whether because they're getting older or because they want to try new things as they change.

Maybe she is singing a happier more upbeat song because she's much happier being married than she was when she was a struggling teen singer living away from home and on the road all the time...

Who knows for sure. Some old fans will like this new stuff and some won't. And she'll make some new fans too.

Either way, thanks for the comments! :)

Where do you think I could find out about her sex life? ;)

Tuesday, March 20, 2007 6:50:00 PM

Who cares about the little details of her sex life??

But on the whole was she a virgin thing.. she doesn't ever really say, but in a magazine article for Seventeen, it said that she was raised in a home that was like no sex before marriage type thing. But that means absoultly nothing at all. Just thought I would let you know.

Rock On Blogger Girl!

Wednesday, March 21, 2007 6:23:00 PM

Since we are discussing aspects of AL's life - “I wouldn’t be with someone who did [drugs], and I made that very clear to him when we first started dating,” she tells Jane magazine. “I’ve never done coke in my life, and I’m proud of that. Oh my God! I could never. I am 100 percent against drugs"

So does that mean she's NEVER done drugs or she's never done cocaine, but did maryjane?

Some quick replies:

Re: Avril's sex life...

No one knows anything about that except Avril. And Deryck too, I assume. ;)

Re: was she a virgin...

I don't think she ever said either way. But she's a huge celebrity who got married in her 20s.

And I don't know how many women in their 20s from N America get married as a virgin (percentage wise), but my guess is that number is very very small.

Take that for what it's worth. lol

Re: "Rock On Blogger Girl!"

Thanks! I will! :D

Re: Avril and her recent comment about drugs...

Based on what Avril said, she hasn't done Coke before. She also apparently said she is 100% against drugs (in general). That could either mean she has never done any, or she's at the stage in her life where she's put any (possible) drug use like marijuana behind her.

No way to tell for sure. But I think it's good she has come out to make that statement now. :)

Thanks again to everyone who's taken the time to post a comment here!
