New Awards for Avril and News of Deryck Whibley Injury
Hey gang,
I have some new news about Avril receiving even more music awards from around the world... and also news that Deryck Whibley has had an injury that's forced the cancellation of the 'Sum 41' tour...
More Awards...
Last Thursday in Mexico City, Avril won the trophy for 'Song of the Year' for "Girlfriend" also won the honours for 'Best International Pop Artist' at the MTV Video Music Awards Latin America.
Avril also tried out her Spanish when receiving the award by saying:
"Hola, Gracias, this is awesome!" :)
Avril also won two awards at this weekends first ever UK Nickleodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in London.
She won 'Best Female Singer' and also the 'MTV Hits Best Music Videos' for "Girlfriend".
And just a while back, Avril was at the 4th MTV Russian Music Awards (RMA) where she sang plenty of songs and won 'The Best International Singer' award"
Russian news coverage called her the surprise guest and "belle of the ball", pointing out that she sang live instead of lip syncing it.

Some Sad News...
There are reports that Avril's husband Deryck Whibley received a serious back injury which has apparently put a "premature end" to the 'Strength In Numbers tour' his band 'Sum 41' is doing with 'Finger Eleven'.
Live Nation, the promoter for the tour, issued a news release late Friday afternoon regarding Whibley's injury and the cancellation of a number of dates.
