"Over the Hedge" Blogger Reviews!

Avril Lavigne as Heather the PossumI've been posting a lot of stuff about "Over the Hedge" since I first heard about the movie because I knew Avril lavigne was going to be in it - and now the movie is out! :)

A *almost* got a chance to see it this weekend, but something happened so I couldn't go. But I will be going this weekend for sure.

I might do another blog entry with my own review after I see it, but for now I thought I'd take a look at what some of the other bloggers online are saying about it - it looks like EVERYONE loves the movie!

Below are some quotes from a few of the blogs I saw (pretty much anything they say about the movie is shown here, but I link to their entire post too)...

---------

Oh my gosh, what an hysterical movie!!! "Over The Hedge" is about my neighborhood, (they must know my builders) complete with nosy neighbors, foraging animals, and hyper dog playfully (but really - violently) shaking and tossing around an unsuspecting creature. I loved every second.

It was good enough to force me to walk quickly (instead of my typical foot-dragging trudge, when I would prefer to peel my skin off rather than go back into the abyss) for our 2 1/2 popcorn and diet coke refills. If you haven't taken your children already, go, it's fun.

This kid's movie was enjoyable. I actually don't recall any subtle sexual inuendo or inappropriate speech, which amazed me in this day of Eddie Murphy tainted stupidity (oh wait, he wasn't in this movie I don't believe, maybe THAT'S why it was good...).

I definitely recommend this movie to all.

Over The Hedge is TREMENDOUSLY funny cause as my close friends knows I LOVE CARTOONS. Just switched them on and I can glue myself to it the WHOLE DAY. (I ain't kidding, trust me)

And now some Over the Hedge related Videos featuring Avril!

The first is a Press Conference at the Cannes Film Festival. Avril is front and center along with other stars from the movie, and she gets to answer one of the reporter's questions - the whole thing is pretty funny.

The second one is from MovieFone Unscripted. It's Avril Lavigne and William Shatner, who does the voice for the father possum of Avril's character, and they ask each other questions. Avril talks a bit about singing when she was younger and William Shatner notices her HUGE engagement ring! :)

Avril says "Leave My Fans Alone!" :-)

There have been a few small bits of news about Avril Lavigne lately, so I figured I do a post that included all of them at once!

The first story is that Avril has teamed up with other Canadian artists to protect their Canadian fans from getting in trouble for downloading music!

Part of one news article says:
Broken Social Scene and Avril Lavigne may not have much in common musically, but they share a concern for the way music is shared and listened to in Canada.

To ensure the voice of musicians is heard in the copyright debate, Steven Page of the Barenaked Ladies created the Canadian Music Creators Coalition. Members of Blue Rodeo along with Sam Roberts, John K Sampson of The Weakerthans, Broken Social Scene, Randy Bachman, Chantal Kreviazuk, Sum 41, Avril Lavigne and others have publicly joined the coalition...

The three core values of the organization are these:

- suing fans is wrong and counterproductive;
- digital locks on music, which prevent music from being copied to other media players, are standing in the way of music getting to the fans;
- and that Canadian musicians deserve support from the government.

Avril Attends "Over the Hedge" Premiere

A week or so ago, Avril attended a premiere showing of "Over the Hedge" all glammed up!

The British Daily Record said:
ROCKER Avril Lavigne has binned the punk and grunge gear and replaced it with a natty black cocktail dress.

She wowed fans with her new look as she strolled up the red carpet at a film premiere in Los Angeles.

The 21-year-old Canadian provides the voice of Heather the possum in animated film Over The Hedge.

Even her trademark Converse baseball boots were swapped for a pair of high heels.

But her black eye make-up appears to have survived the makeover.

The picture to theright is one photo of Avril at the premiere, and they can all be seen in this story that also mentions actress Brooke Shields and her husband and daughter were there - click here to see the pics (at the bottom)
