Avril Lavigne Movie News!
Avril just posted on her website that she was asked by FOX Studios to do a song for the movie "Eragon" (which is based on a really popular book which the author started writing when he was 15, and still a teenager when it was published!)...
Hey guys. How's it going!
I am in the studio right now as you know.Fox approached me to write a song for their movie, "Eragon". They showed me the trailer and talked about it. It's going to be a very big movie for them and everyone is really excited. So I worked on a couple different ballad type songs, and the one they ended up using is called, "Keep Holding On".
This song was specifically written for the movie. It was challenging writing lyrics that had to go exactly with the movie. It was a new experience for me and I learned a lot. I was writing about strength, power, and destiny, while keeping in line with the story of the film. Dr. Luke also worked with me on this track.
This song however, is no indication of what the rest of the record is like. You guys are in for a big surprise. AND I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Eragon stuff: And Avril's next movie role after Over the Hedge, "Fast Food Nation", opened in November!
I mentioned that movie a long ways back here where it was described as...Fast Food Nation is a true story about "what really lies in the burger patty you consider meat", written by Eric Schlosser.
So mark your calendar for next Friday to check Avril out...
According to his book, the government doesn’t care enough about what we are eating, and what the fast food places are selling us. Apparently even cafeteria school food is sometimes majorly unclean. And im not just talking about a hair or something, sometimes its as bad as actually having krap in your hamburger... yumm !
The film is directed by Richard Linklater and will be a fictional version of the book "Fast Food Nation".The movie will star Patricia Arquette (from TV's "Medium"!), Bobby Cannavale, Luis Guzman, Ethan Hawke, Ashley Johnson, Greg Kinnear, Kris Kristofferson, Esai Morales, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Lou Taylor Pucci, Ana Claudia Talancon, Wilmer Valderrama (Fez on "That 70's Show") and... Avril Lavigne!
Oh, and I just checked Box Office Mojo and see that Avril's earlier movie "Over the Hedge" has earned $327,325,847 as of today !!!
Wow!! I hope that means we'll see Avril as Heather the Possum and all the others in a new Over the Hedge Movie!
