Avril Lavigne

When I first heard "Girlfriend" I loved it and found a couple of "Girlfriend" videos done by Avril fans on Youtube to post here so everyone could hear the song and watch some kind of video to go with it (plus a vid of two brothers singing that song. lol)...

But now I see (thanks to Kattelynn in that post's comments section) that the OFFICIAL video for Avril's song "Girlfriend" is on Youtube now!

I like it a lot and actually think *maybe* Avril is almost doing a small parody of the typical pop videos with this one, but I'm not sure. Either way I like it a lot .. although I think the wrong girl got the guy at the end. :)

I was also a bit disappointed when the video started because the Youtube quality isn't *great* and for a split section I thought Avril's husband Deryck was playing the role of the boyfriend. But once I got a better look I saw it was someone else.

Check out the vid below and I'll look for better quality ones to replace it with in the future!

Last week Avril did a private concert for her Calgary Alberta (Canada) fans!

According to the Calgary Sun, the concert was held mostly for members of her fan club - and there was an official post on Avril's website to let people know their invitation wasn't a joke. The concert was also taped for a CBC television special set to air April 2 (hopefully!)..

The article quoted Kerianne Sproule, one of the fans who attended the one hour show, who said Avril "...sounded a lot more punk.” and she played three songs off her new album, including "I Wear The Pants".

Kerianne also said "(The new songs) were really catchy. She sounded more mature (and) seemed relaxed and easygoing … She didn’t really talk too much.”

I hope Avril has a private concert somewhere in the Napanee area soon and sends out invitations to fans here! (hint hint). :)

I just noticed some new videos on Youtube for a song from Avril's upcoming CD "The Best Damn Thing" - it's called "Girlfriend"!

Below I've attached a video someone made from other Avril videos but with 'Girlfriend" as the sound track.

And I also found a video someone uploaded that shows him and his brother doing a live acoustic cover version of the song! :)

Hey - just saw there's a good little article on the MTV website about Avril's Manga novel that I mentioned in my last post.

It has some cool pictures from the book and bit more info about its story...

The series follows Hana, an unpopular girl who "just doesn't fit in" at school and is tormented by her parents.

Alone in her bedroom, she spends hours online, creating "various cool, smart, sexy and popular alter egos" and daydreaming about spending time with her idol, Avril Lavigne (but of course!).

One night, while exploring the nether regions of the Web, Hana comes across a mysterious Web site called Make5Wishes.com, and discovers — gasp — she cannot click away. Before she knows it, she's ordered a package from the site that's guaranteed to make her dreams come true.

Sounds good! :)

I'll post here again if I find out anything new and interesting about this book, and here's a pic from that MTV page from the novel...
